Tomato Ketchup
Ingredients
- 3.5 kilograms tomatoes, roughly chopped
- 1 kilograms apples, peeled
- 1 kilograms apples, chored
- 1 kilograms apples, chopped
- 6 pieces onions, chopped
- 800 grams sugar
- 1 litres malt vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 1 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 12 pieces peppercorns
- 12 pieces alllspice berries
- 12 pieces cloves
Directions
Tie up the peppercorns, allspice and cloves in a muslin bag. Place all the ingredients in a pan, bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer; cook until the ingredients are a pulp, abotu 2 hours. Remove from the head and press through a sieve. Return to the pan and boil for 2-3 minutes, then decant into sterilized jars and seal.
