Onion marmalade

Recipe yields 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 kilograms onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 5 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 100 grams sugar

Directions

Fry the onions in oil until soft, then turn up the heat to dry them off. Add the vinegar and sugar. Continue to cook for a few minutes, stirring frequently until they are slightly sticky.

Variations: add mustard, tomato puree, or cumberland sauce, or try red onions and brown sugar.
